Responsible for the network, system infrastructure, and operations of the "Erdemnet" NREN in Mongolia

All my professional achievements related to computer networks are inextricably linked with the “Erdemnet” Mongolian educational network. Following the development of information technology, the infrastructure of Mongolia's educational network “Erdemnet” was established in 2000. Initially, we provided Internet services by connecting about ten universities and colleges in Ulaanbaatar using a radio modem network. In 2005, we upgraded our old wireless connectivity to fiber optic infrastructure in the scope of the central districts of UB. Near In 2010, a private tech company completed the project connecting about 160 public schools and educational organizations in all province centers of Mongolia to the Internet. After a while, a significant task was carried out to integrate these networks of province centers into our network through a third networking company. In this work, I introduced a network solution related to the MPLS L3 VPN tunnel and implemented my solution. Starting in 2015, the project of connecting about 600 public schools in nationwide scope to the network was carried out by a foreign company that won the government tender. After a while, we organized the extensive work of integrating this independent network with our base network. As a result, Mongolia's education network has become a unified network connecting more than 670 schools with centralized management. My contribution was managing the entire integration process by creating network architecture and interconnection solutions at all network tiers.

Connection of the Mongolian NREN with Trans Euro-Asian Information Network (2020-2021): Made network design of our autonomous system to connect to TEIN, Our autonomous system became a transit autonomous system to connect with other autonomous systems of providers, exchange points, peerings, and clients (Mongolian Universities, Colleges, and all of the secondary schools) using BPG manipulation technics such as (eBGP, iBGP, route map, route policy with as-path and prefix-set).

Instructor, Instructor trainer (part-time) at Cisco Networking Academy • Sep 2004 – Oct 2021

Co-founded “Erdemnet Training Center” NGO, and achieved official authorization as Cisco Academy, Academy Support Center, and Instructor Training Center.

Co-founded Mongolian Network Operation Group (2018-2021)
Organized mnNOG1(2019), and mnNOG2(2020) events (conferences and workshops) support of NSRC (Network Startup Resource Center) and APNIC (Asian Pacific Network Information Center) in Mongolia. Taught the role of assistant teacher in the Routing Infrastructure and Security Operations Workshop.
10G Core network implementation in Mongolian Telecommunication Company (08/2016 – 12/2016)
Made design of the core network and configured Cisco ASR 9006, ASR 903 routers, switches, etc. by installing relevant service licenses, configuring ISIS, BGP, EFP, LDP, and VRF protocols, organizing an MPLS VPN network, creating L2 VPN connections such as VPWS, VPLS, and L3 VPN connections, setting up cross connections, as well as organizing BNG PPPoE services, AAA RADIUS, QoS, Manual configuration of CoA and ACL Based Forwarding (ABF). In addition, the above configuration and BNG PPPoE service were put into testing operation and supervised the phased transfer of users to the new service.
Network implementation in Altan Joloo Group Company (04/2018 – 06/2018)
Designing a new network solution for the Central office and 14 branches of the “Sansar” supermarket. The solution covers the physical and logical design of SAN, LAN, WAN, and secure interconnection between branches. Consulted the appropriate devices for the whole network upgrade to the client. I implemented many features and services such as Cisco StackWise, Etherchannel, IPSEC, DMVPN, mGRE, NHRP, EIGRP, DHCP, capwap in Cisco WLAN Controller, Routers, Switches, and Checkpoint firewall. After implementation, I tested and monitored network operations in real life.
Network upgrade of Altai Holding group (04/2016 – 09/2016)
Meeting the network interconnection and topologies of central and branch networks of Altai Holding group. So give some advice for improving network performance, and configure some required configuration of network devices. Therefore consult on how to establish a network for the new opening 6-floor E-Mart shopping center building including the topics of horizontal vertical and physical network infrastructure, data center room standards and appliances, design of logical and physical network topology, choice of vendor, network devices and technology such as solution for Controller based WLAN, switched network.
Also done monitor implementation work of agent company. I managed the operation of the network transition from the old network to the new network infrastructure. Consult on a network for the new opening 6-floor “E-Mart” shopping center building, including horizontal vertical, and physical network infrastructure, data center room standards, and appliances. Designed logical and physical network topology, choice of vendor, network devices, and technology such as solutions for Controller-based WLAN, and switched network. I led the operation of the network transition from the old network to the new network infrastructure.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised environment

I was born in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Ulaanbaatar means Red Hero, and this is where the image of a communist society comes into play. I've been curious since I was a child, trying to figure things out. Why? I used to bomb adults until they got tired of it. At that time, in addition to my studies, I read a lot of books on fairy tales, literature, and cognition. There was no internet, no websites, no social networks.

As a pupil, I was more interested in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and History, but I was less interested in sociology and foreign languages. At that time, Mongolia was socialist-oriented, and in 1990, the transition to democracy took place, so I consider myself a witness to that transition. From a child's point of view, there was plenty of food at that time, but suddenly the store shelves were empty and there was a shortage of food. I remember having to wait in long lines to get food.

Academic Education and Professional Career

As a pupil, I excelled in nature science, so I decided to pursue a degree in technology. I successfully passed the entrance exam and entered the Mongolian Technical University to pursue a bachelor's degree in computer science. I received my basic education for free, but my parents paid a cost for me to get a higher education. Whenever possible, I worked part-time during the summer to supplement my tuition.
